Rock, Paper, Scissors
This book was written by Len Fisher. It contains a daily event of life full of strategies, challenges, lessons, cooperation and collaboration.
The Introduction explains the concept and the meaning of the Game Theory. He explained it's significance and it seems like encouraging us to find a solutions to a certain problem together. After I had read the Introductory part of the book, some ideas went through my mind such as the fun of looking others as a companion and not as a competitor or an enemy. I think it will makes life easier and better. If a game theory evolves around us and it refers to strategies and collaboration. Therefore, if we live together with this game theory then we must live with strategies and collaboration. Think of it, competition between one man to another will just worsen the fight. In that case, someone will win and someone will lose but if you tried to worked together, both of you will gain a win. To made these things possible we must learn to communicate, learn to listen so that you will be heard. Helping together on little problems is a practice for us to deal with the big one's. The writer wants to show us that Game Theory was not a simply a game or a joke. It may be fun but it's significance and goal is a serious matter.
After the definition of the Game Theory, there some examples given to elaborate more the application of Game Theory. The first example was the 'Trapped in a Matrix'. It was done by creating a matrix through the given statements. In the given example, we will try to determined the final statement of the two men. Given the clues, we need to create two matrix for the two men. Combined them together and you will find the pattern. It wasn't easy as other people think about. It also requires a deep understanding and an application of the logic.
There were still more examples such as 'I Cut and You Choose' , 'The Seven Deadly Dilemmas' , 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' , 'Let's Get Together' . 'Trust' , 'Tit for Tat' and Changing the Game'. Each examples contains an interesting challenges that can be solve through different techniques. Most of the challenges includes cooperation with the other. Cooperating and collaborating with the other doesn't mean that you only need the effort of the teamwork but it was also the self-interest of both person.
For the overall content of the book, I should say it was interesting and it contains challenging information that will guide us on how to approached problems and challenges. It was a fun book and I never been felt bored while reading it.
