A Certain Ambiguity, a Mathematical Novel (A book review by Denzelle Freya Del Puerto)

The objective of the novel to show mathematical beauty has been met. This novel is unlike other mathematical novels, this story has many plot twists and you are to be indulged into reading more and more pages as you go along with the lines filled with math logics. While the Certain Ambiguity is a work of fiction, its mathematics seeks to be complete and remains to be substantially true in the world of fiction as it is in our world. The narrative storyline of the novel, although entirely fictitious and are products of the author’s imagination, its readers can’t help to think that it is likely to be applied in real life.
The first chapter gave me the chills. Although it was to be expected that his grandfather is dead already since he was only narrating where he got that peculiar calculator, the death of his grandfather made me realized how precious is the days to spent with your grandparents and also with your parents because one day, when we least expect it, they will be gone forever.
The mathematical prowess the boy got from his elders, as his grandfather would say, was quite amazing since he used this to decipher some mysteries he yet to unfold. The twists in the story were fascinating.

Mathematics really is a fundamental structure of knowledge that is been of use to humans until now. Although learned in school the hard way, its applications in the field of facts and fictions don’t cease to astonish and fascinate even ordinary individuals. J
