“THE FRONTIERS OF SPACE”
The third episode of the story of maths talks about perspective. Perspective is an the art of drawing solid objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other when viewed from a particular point(according to Google).Piero Della Francesca said to be the first Italian painter who truly understand perspective because he was also a mathematician. His works are amazing from the painting itself are already good plus he put mathematics on it becomes far too awesome concept.I imagine myself making three dimensional art into two dimensional surface is just impossible even there is now lots of technology to make it happen it just I’m not capable of it and knowing Piero can do it even during Renaissance period is such amazing guy. According to Professor Marcus Du Sautoy just get it wrong the illusion of perspective get shattered.
Later part of the movie talks about great mathematicians and their discoveries like Rene Descartes who discover Cartesian coordinate plane and linking the algebra and geometry and Issac Newton who discover about calculus, measuring the right time and distance of a certain thing. Newton didn't publish his works about math but his rivalry did his name is Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz who has the same concept like him shortly after Newton discover it. Leibniz works was widely use after publishing his works. Though trouble came because of ‘who discover it first’ thing that there is one who take all the credit and who didn't still discovering it really marked in the history and though Leibniz didn't take the credit of his works but look at the present his works still much greater use.
Actually there are just hundreds of genius around the globe from the past up until now who leaves mark in the history about their discoveries. What we have now should be thanking for, for all their contributions that affects our lives.
